A breathtaking centrepiece of the worldfamous Jewel Changi Airport, the Rain Vortex stands as an engineering and architectural marvel that transforms indoor space into a stunning immersive experience. The HSBC Rain Vortex’s cascading waterfall system at Jewel Changi Airport required highly complex coordination of hydraulic systems within a tight architectural space. The feature consists of multiple terraced levels with concealed pumps, pipework, drainage systems, and structural elements. Through advanced BIM modelling and engineers simulated water flow, coordinated multidisciplinary services, clashes were detected early which enabled accurate prefabrication and installation.
